A bit about me...

I specialise in blown and ground glass. For me this approach to the material allows you to make the most of both the maleable properties of hot glass, and the fact that it can be carved and polished.

Studying glass is a humbling experience - everything can go wrong in a blink of an eye, you can spend hours pouring every ounce of energy and drop of sweat into a piece, for it to fall to the floor at the last minute.

I wouldn't make glass if it was easy. You can learn something new everytime you go in the hotshop whether or not you realise it.

I am Imogen and I am a glassmaker. I've studied glass since 2008, have been apprentice to Siddy Langley since 2010 and will be graduating from my degree in Applied Arts June 2011.
